HOW DO YOU COPE WITH STRESS? Stress can affect everyone differently but the top few things it can induce is Anxiety, depression and frustration!!!! For me I have a few ways to help ease the stress…
Meditation is one thing I have used time and time again when I am in a moment of complete breakdown… even if it is only for 5 min to regulate my breath and bring myself back to center or present! Stopping whatever it is that you are doing and taking 5-10 min to step away to a quiet place to speak a calm healing mantra to yourself. My go to mantra is “I am calm and relaxed”… repeat that over and over.
Another way to ease Stress, anxiety or depression is exercise!! Movement of any kind really! Currently I am at the skate park with my son, watching all these people from beginner to extreme athlete’s ride, skate and scooter! No one looks like they are thinking about anything but what they are doing at that exact moment! How often are we ever THAT present?! I grew up playing sports and I don’t ever remember really being “stressed” I didn’t have enough time to stay stressed if I was. We had practice or games where we were forced to stay focused! If only we had a full-time coach walking around with us 24/7! Either that or a hype man pumping us up all day!
Hobbies also help us when we need a bit of recharge or stress relief… I recently started making bracelets. One, because I kept buying them and finally figured I could YouTube how to do it my damn self! Lol and now it’s turned into a hobby that allows me to make a few extra bucks or have awesome handmade gifts to give my friends! How can you be depressed when you are making pretty things!
Lastly, I have found the right diet and supplements help ease anxiety as well. A Good B-COMPLEX, magnesium and essential oils. Also, limiting caffeine intake and alcohol… caffeine can severely dehydrate you as can alcohol. And we all know alcohol is a heavy depressant. No need to elaborate on that. Keeping away from processed foods as much as possible and sticking to whole, natural foods is the best remedy!!!
