StrawBarry Bananilow: A Poem
A man who listens to Barry Manilow is likely, himself, a man alone.
Unless he feels the urge to splurge and purge himself of being stranded home.
He heads down to the Mad Beet, meets a girl, she’s mad sweet.
They order smoothies, go to the movies, he no longer feels like a Black Sheep.
He can see it now, the girl of his dreams, he pictures them united at the chapel.
He goes to kiss her, slips on a banana peel and falls. How you like them apples?
Blame Barry Manilow, lame Barry Manilow,
His elbow scraped with a strawberry, bandaged bone.
He saw them hand in hand eloped,
but her name was Mandy, just some random ____.
